We would like to help you and make your trip as pleasant as possible. Our professional Drivers will be happy to answer any of your questions or you can call our offices before you book. However, here are the answers to a few frequently asked questions. Hopefully these answers will make your trip preparations much easier.

How much luggage can I bring on the bus?
We allow 3 bags per person. The total weight should not exceed 100 lbs.

Am I allowed to bring a bicycle on the bus?
Yes, but only if it is in an airline-approved bike box.

What time do I need to be at one of the Mountain States Express pickup locations?
Please be ready to go 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pick up time.

Is there any long term parking at the stops where I can leave my vehicle?
Mountain States Express does not authorize parking at any of the stops or pick up points. These locations are provided as a courtesy of the participating businesses.

How many stops are made during the trip?
Stops can be based on where passengers are ultimately going. There are always stops for restrooms and for fueling the vehicle. We strive to stay true to our scheduled drop off and pick up times, and avoid any unnecessary stops.

What if there are road closures due to weather or road construction?
Weather in the Western Rockies can change quickly year round. Our drivers are experienced in driving in all conditions. Should a road on our route close, your driver would contact our office and discuss alternative routes. We always try to have contact phone numbers for our passengers so we can inform them of any delays caused by poor weather, traffic accidents, or road construction. We are grateful for our customers’ patience and understanding with these unpredictable situations.

Can I bring my lap dog?
For the sake of passengers with allergies and the cleanliness of our vehicles, no pets are allowed on Mountain States Express.

Can children ride without being accompanied by an adult?
Yes. Children 14 to 17 can ride with us provided a parent or guardian fills out and signs a parental consent form. One of these forms can be sent to parent or guardian via email or fax. Please contact our office for more information.

What is the latest I can book a reservation?
It is preferred that passengers book reservations 48 hours in advance, however, we will take them on very short notice to accommodate you.

What is your cancellation policy and how hard is it to make changes to an existing reservation?
Whenever you become aware of any changes in you travel plans, cancellations or otherwise, contact our office as soon as possible. We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you are canceling your trip entirely and don’t give us more than 48 hours notice, no refund will be issued. If you need to make last minute changes, for example a change in pickup location or date, and do not give us 48 hours notice, we will charge a $10 change fee. All changes and cancellations made OUTSIDE of 48 hours result in no penalty.

What if I am late to the pickup location and miss the bus?
Call our office immediately. We can make arrangement to turn the bus around or, at least, reschedule for another day. If we don’t hear from you the day you were supposed to travel, your account will be marked as a NO SHOW, and no refund will be issued.
